Robyn + Royksopp "Do it Again" / Fink

#LAskeez went on a brief hiatus over the weekend to Palm Springs but did make it back on time over to the Hollywood Bowl to see Robyn & Röyksopp! The picnic baskets were out in full swing before the show took place. The second the show began the glow sticks and neon lights were raised in the air and if you were sitting down you weren't participating in the dance partaaaay. If you didn't want to dance, why bother showing up? This was the second time Robyn + Royksopp perform at the Bowl together and each time they get better and better. Don't be surprised if they're on the bill again next summer and "do it again".

Tonight over at the Bardot Hollywood, Fink will be performing a FREE show.
It may not be as fun (lacking glow sticks) as the Robyn bowl show last night but hey it's FREE and in LA you have to the opportunity to catch great acts for next to nothing, if you're on top of it that is. As long as the #skeezies keep reading, you all will definitely be in the know.

How about them Los Angeles Dodgers? They play tonight against the Cleveland Indians at 7:10pm and if the calculations are correct, a win tonight will move them up to the number one spot in their division! GO BLUE!

Sunset Strip Festival 2014

Since Sunset Junction is a thing of the past we only have The Sunset Strip Music Festival to talk about and lucky for you #skeezies the line-up was announced yesterday!
From the looks of it, the festival is going to offer a little of everything for everyone.
Jane's Addiction to Big Freedia that's a huge difference but #LAskeez likes it and can appreciate the bold move.
Mark your calendars for the two day street festival on September 20 & 21.

This is just a taste of what you can expect

If you enjoyed those music videos, then you need to be at SSMF!

Can't wait until September to go to a show?
Well tomorrow evening over at the Fox Performing Arts Center,  Jill Scott will be bringing from the soul realness onto the stage.

"Hater don't hate" on Jill Scott!

MEXICO v CROATIA / USA v GERMANY

Team USA seemed to have had Portugal in the bag until Portugal came back with a last minute goal and tied the game 2-2. Fans across the United States and abroad were crushed but satisfied with the dominance Team USA had on the field throughout the game.
The next game is this Thursday against Germany.

Here in LA people are very interested in the Mexico vs Croatia game which starts at 1:00pm. Could that be a possible final World Cup Match? Mexico vs USA. With how the rest of the games are going it's a possibility.

At 5:00pm the +Los Angeles Dodgers will face the +Kansas City Royals. Every win counts during this time of the year so "Go Dodgers!"

USA v Portugal / True Blood

In less than an hour at 3pm, team USA will face Portugal. The World Cup has definitely been interesting this year. No one would of suspected for Spain to have already been eliminated. Team USA lost one of their main players during the last game against Ghana so lets see what team USA has in store. USA! USA!

Tonight the Final season of True Blood begins! It's been a crazy few years full of vampires, werewolves, fairies and shifters. I can't imagine what this final season has in store. Will the vamps and humans really work together? Can Sookie Stackhouse stay out of trouble for one episode? Who knows. But Amen baby girl, we can't get enough of Lafayette!

#LAskeez did make it out to San Diego for yesterday's Dodgers game against the Padres and the Dodgers Won! Looks like they're about to win today as well. Can't beat LA!

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKershaw no-hitter!

One of the many strikes
How about them Dodgers ?!
Dodger Fans were already stoked that Josh Beckett had pitched a no-hitter last month but witnessing Clayton Kershaw accomplish a NO-HITTER at the Chavez Ravine last night has left the fans completely ecstatic.
Kershaw has already won two Cy young awards so what does this no-hitter mean to him? Well EVERYTHING! He did it in front of thousands of fans that knew something special was happening after each strike. The "K"s just kept adding and lighting up on the big screen.
When the last strike was thrown--everyone went crazy.
The last time the Dodgers had two no-hitters in the same season was back in 1954. So this is definitely a nice addition to the MLB and Dodger history books.
#LAskeez along with all Dodger fans would like to start opening the discussion for changing Crenshaw blvd to Kershaw blvd.

Street Change from Crenshaw to Kershaw blvd

The Dodgers head over to San Diego this weekend to play the Padres. The game starts at 7:10pm tomorrow. You better believe we will be tuning in and potentially even take a quick road trip to support the boys in blue.

NYC mayor sings "I love LA"/ Sage Francis / Uh Huh Her

If you haven't heard already, the New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, went on Jimmy Kimmel and sang the unofficial Los Angeles City anthem---"I love LA".  LA Mayor Eric Garcetti really knows how to place bets and celebrate as he dropped an F--bomb as he was holding a beer during the +Los Angeles Kings celebration ceremony. Where can we party with this guy? Hopefully there's more sports celebrations to come ::cough:: Dodgers?! #LAskeez can only be oh so hopeful.

Let's talk local shows. Tonight, over at the Troubadour +Sage Francis will be taking the stage in an intimate venue.

and just a quick drive up the 5 fwy over to Santa Ana Uh Huh Her will be performing at The Observatory for $15. Who doesn't want to see Alice from the L-Word jam out live?

"We love LA!"

USA vs GHANA/ Metronomy

Hope everyone had a great father's day yesterday including those mothers who have fulfilled the father role for their children.
Like yesterday, today is such pleasant day that it's time for #LAskeez to officially bring out the grill for some good old carne asada action! Which seems to coincide perfectly with the USA versus Ghana game, today at 3pm!
#LAskeez has been catching a few games here and there but we will definitely be tuning in, as you #skeezies should for some World Cup action.

USA all the way!

Congratulations to the San Antonio Spurs from preventing the Miami HEAT from going back-to-back-to-back.

The Lakers should be taking headlines soon to announce a new coach. Big things are coming Laker fans!

Let's not forget to mention the Metronomy show that will be taking place tomorrow at the Fonda Theatre tomorrow. What a fun dance hipster sing-along event this should be.

Kings Win Stanley Cup/ Neon Trees/ The Internet / Summer Nights

#LAskeez can officially say the Los Angeles Kings brought the Stanley Cup back to LA!
It was an intense game 5 against the New York Rangers that went into double OT but Alec Martinez shot the winning goal!
The parade will take place Monday June 16th. It will start from 5th street over to Chick Hearn.
After the parade there will be a rally inside the Staples Center at 1:00pm. If you have tickets to the rally, the option to see the parade from inside the Staples Center is up to you.

LA Kings/ Sam Smith/ Electric Six

The Kings need to stop messing around and win the Stanley Cup already! Geeesh the Rangers were lucky to have prevented a sweeeep but tonight at 5:00pm #LAskeez will hopefully be celebrating a championship, as all Angelinos will!

GO KINGS GO!

Tickets to see Sam Smith perform at The Greek Theatre go on sale TODAY!!! This is the second show that was added so make sure not to miss out on this. Come October I'm sure you #skeezies aren't just going to want to read about it, you are going to want to be there.

As for shows going on tonight---turns out the band Electric Six is still around and they will be perfuming at the Roxy Theatre tonight.

Watch the Kings game or go to a show. The choice is yours!

Kings, Dodgers, Eels & Jack White

Quick sports talk:

#Skeezies make sure you tune in tonight at 5:00pm to see the +Los Angeles Kings win the Stanley Cup against the +New York Rangers

Are the +Los Angeles Dodgers finally getting their groove back?
It sure seemed like it last night in their 6-1 win over the +Cincinnati Reds

Okay now for the music!

Tonight over at the Orpheum Theatre The Eels will be performing for a sold out crowd.

AAAAND let's not forget that Jack White will be performing again at the Mayan TONIGHT!

Jack White @ The Fonda

First things first #LAskeez would like to congratulate the Kings for their big win against the Rangers! They won 3-0 and also lead the series 3-0. Just one more win and the Stanley Cup belongs to LA!

Big show coming up tonight. If any #skeezies were lucky enough to get tickets for tonight's show at The Fonda Theatre you are in store for a great set from Jack White.
Didn't get tickets for tonight's show?
No worries he's also playing again tomorrow at the Mayan Theatre and then heading up to Pomona on Thursday to play at the Fox Theatre.

French Style Furs--The Satellite

It's Monday #skeezies and #LAskeez has a bad case of the Mondays.
The show goes on and there are a few things to look forward to this evening such as the Los Angeles Kings game against the New York Rangers! The Kings already lead the series 2-0 which means LA can already envision the Stanley cup parade. The game starts at 5:00pm so be ready to tune in. I mean who isn't a hockey fan right now?

As for the music fans there's a great show going on at the satellite theatre. AND it's FREE! You read that correctly, the show is free.
If you haven't heard for the French Style Furs, they are a reminder that music isn't all about electronic cute leg moving beats. If you recognize the vocals, that's just the lead singer from Cold War Kids. Yeah he teamed up with two of the guys from We Are Barbarians and yeah they made French Style Furs.
Don't pass up on this FREE show, tonight.

Go Kings!

LA Pride

#LAskeez would like to wish everyone a Happy LA Pride Weekend!
If any of you #skeezies had the opportunity to make it out to the streets of Weho and into the festival you would of seen some great performances from  Azealia Banks to Jennifer Hudson!
There were a lot of folks disappointed that Azealia didn't go on a little later into the evening but regardless it was great to have her.

Half a million people from all over the world make it out to LA Pride weekend.
The only thing required is: acceptance, positivity, and equality.
Leave all negativity at home if you decide to make the trek down.
Demi Lovato was named the Grand Marshall this year during the parade.
She sang a few songs and recorded a few parts to add to her new music video.

Demi Lovato may have been the Grand Marshall this year but the life of the party was this guy below!
Cool Cat,  Weho

Farewell Kauai, Hello LA

#LAskeez will be heading back to Los Angeles shortly.
Here is the promised fish video because who doesn't want to see some underwater action.

Kauai

Sea Cucumber, Kauai

Hawaiian Caves near Ship Wreck Beach, Kauai

It's been real Kauai. Until next year Mahalo (thank you)!
LA get ready to have yours truly #LAskeez back.

Be ready for some LA pride updates which officially kicks off tonight in the city of West Hollywood!

Helicopter Tours to Zip-lining in Kauai

Aloha #skeezies!
#LAskeez has been taking the island life of relaxation seriously here on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
#LAskeez can't stay put for long so a helicopter tour along with some zip-lining was an absolute must before #LAskeez leaves the island.
Only 10% of the island is accessible by car which means if you never jump on a helicopter tour, there's no way you can ever see the whole island in it's entirety.
Check out some of the pics and videos below!

The fun didn't stop after the helicopter ride.
An 8 course zip-lining adventure was next.
The first four lines were amatuer ones but gradually got longer, higher, and faster. #LAskeez can now officially say that we conquered the island in the air and on the ground.

Hawaiian paradise is always a great vacation but there's no place like home.
#LAskeez will be back into the good ole routine of city life tomorrow. Before we head out #LAskeez will have to capture some footage of fishes in action under water and throw the roosters a few more bread crumbs.

City Life to Island Kauai Fun

Aloha from Kauai!
When it's June #LAskeez needs to get out of the city and take a plane ride over to the Hawaiian islands.
What's to do on this island?
Relax and enjoy the leisure life.
This island is particularly known for roosters!
Yeah, you read that right...roosters.
No one really knows how they arrived here.
Some say it was a hurricane, others say it was the Hawaiian gods that created them.
Whatever it was there's now a ton of them roaming the island freely and nothing beats waking up to a rooster crowing in the morning.

Ship-Wreck Beach
#LAskeez will be taking a helicopter your of the island later today so look forward to those airal shots later tomorrow.
