Takamine Acoustic Guitar/ Coachella Weekend 2

#LAskeez is a daily blogger however yesterday our absences was felt throughout the inter-webs. Please accept my dearest apologies #skeezies.
A special package arrived early yesterday morning and to #LAskeez's surprise it was a Takamine P3MC Acoustic Guitar (hard leather case included)!!! Quite frankly the joy was overwhelming which led to #LAskeez spending the entire day enjoying the beautiful musical instrument. The guitar is light and very easy to handle. The built in tuner is another plus for anyone that is always misplacing their tuner or can't do it by ear. I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an acoustic guitar.

I'll even include this demo video for all you guitar playing #skeezies

Moving on...

Coachella Weekend 2 is tomorrow! For all you folks headed down I have some insider tips from this past Weekend 1.

Coachella Weekend 2 Top Ten Tips

1. When it's a high 90 degrees and you are sweating buckets head over to the "Fruttare" tent which is located near the Ferris Wheel. It offers free popsicles and AC! You are welcome.

2.  DO NOT chain hands with about 20 of your closest friends and attempt to walk through the Coachella crowd. Be your own person, branch out and do your own thing.

3. If you are a female using the white trailer bathrooms DO NOT use the urinals. Urinals are for men and men only. There's plenty of port-a-potties. No need to pee in the one accidental urinal that happens to come with the white trailer restrooms.

4. Wear shoes! Even sandals. Please DO NOT walk barefoot. Witnessing people walk out of the restrooms BAREFOOT is the grossest thing ever. It's unsanitary and I highly doubt anyones parents would be proud of that (same for the whole peeing in the urinal...yuck).

5. Get there early tomorrow to obtain a schedule booklet. Those things fly off the racks very quick.

6. If you're going to be that drunk girl that sits on top of her friends shoulders. Don't fall. #LAskeez saw one too many failed attempts which all result in injury and are shaken off by laughter. We all know it hurt.

7. It's an outdoor festival but that doesn't mean that the decibels aren't extremely high. So wear earplugs if you value your hearing and want to continue hearing properly. Hearing lost is unrepairable. It doesn't matter how much money you have, you can't get it back.

8. There's always room towards the front you just have to be willing to get there.

9. After your makeup is all gone from being towards the front of a stage and sweating buckets, head over to the Sephora tent for a touch up. They will take care you and put your face back on.

10. If you are prone to claustrophobia stay far far away from the Yuma Tent. It's the only tent that's enclosed with not too many exits. Can someone say safety hazard?

Be Safe Weekend 2 folks!
Don't forget to check out our Weekend 1 band/artist recommendations which stand exactly the same for Weekend 2 along with all the useful tips.

Local LA spots/ Lunar Eclipse

After a long weekend in the desert for Coachella Weekend 1 #LAskeez is once again ready to tackle on the concrete jungle everyone knows as Los Angeles.

Yesterday we visited a few favorite spots that #LAskeez must share with the #skeezies.
Ever heard of "Slow-Fast Food"?
 No, I didn't think so.
Let me fill you in.
Theres this amazing burger place called the Oinkster.
Google, Yelp it whatever you just need to go over there (Eagle Rock) and order yourself the Royale.
It consists of an Angus patty,  bacon, pastrami, chili, pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and I always add American cheddar cheese. Good stuff. There's Craft beer for you beer drinkers out there and do not leave without a peanut butter and jelly cupcake that's a must.
If Eagle Rock is too out of the way no worries they are opening up a new location soon in Hollywood!

Okay so #LAskeez was clearly feeling like a Oinkster yesterday because for dessert we headed over to Tierra Mia in Echo Park for some cafecito (coffee for you non-spanish speakers).
The Horchata Latte and Cafecito Cubano con Leche are two great coffee choices. Since you're already up ordering coffee might as well try the Tres Leches muffin. Trust me you won't regret it, unless you hate muffins or Tres Leches.

Last night Facebook and Twitter were flooded with comments of "Lunar Eclipse" and "Bloody Moon. So naturally #LAskeez had to see what all the fuse was about. The moon was bright and even turned a dark red. There were many posted photos of the moon which were all bad. They're the type of photos you look back at a week from now and realize camera phones suck and you're probably going to delete them. Me included. Regardless of the many bad smartphone photos, it was still a sight to see.  If you are still wondering how the lunar eclipse phenomenon occurs check out this very informative NASA video below. In 2 minutes you will be an expert (kinda).

Coachella Recap

What a phenomenal weekend!
The desert bid farewell to all Coachella Weekend 1 goers with perfect weather accompanied with great music.
Day 3 Coachella Sunset
Chance the Rapper surprised the crowd with his special guest of Justin Bieber.

In case you were wondering how it feels to be near the front of the stage, check out this AlunaGeorge performance.

Disclosure was hands down the best performance of the weekend. They brought out everyone from Aluna George, Mary J. Blige, & Sam Smith! The only one missing from the scene was Jessie Ware.

#LAskeez captured some great ariel views of the festival from the very top of the Ferris Wheel.

Everyone Looking like Little Ants
This was definitely another memorable Coachella. You never know who will show up or which celebrity you may run into. The food, music, and overall vibe was incredible. Coachella Weekend 2 is only 3 days away. #LAskeez will not be in attendance for Weekend 2 but will return to the desert next year.

Coachella Weekend 1 Day 3

The desert winds were very intense yesterday. Hats were flying and the smart folks were wearing swimming goggles to protect their eyes from the dust and a handkerchiefs around their noses and mouth to prevent from breathing the mixture of cow manure, dirt, and guck.

The wind even blew in some extra talent. Beyoncé made a guest appearance and performed with her sister Solange. Aren't you glad I recommended Solange yesterday? Aaand Gwen Stefani came out for a surprise performance with Pharrell!

Coachella Weekend 1 Day 2

Day 1 of the Coachella festival was successfully completed.

Come here for the music. Stay here for that amazing desert sunset @ Coachella Day 1

A little of Los Angeles was taken to the desert and local restaurants such as Beer Belly and Mohawk Bend made it out to the desert! Such a delightful surprise.

#LAskeez had recommended The Knife last night and was quite surprised that they didn't play any of their hit songs and turned the set into a 1997 art class dance party. You win some you lose some.
Skrillex was spotted by #LAskeez watching an amazing Bonobo performance.

By the way never stay at the Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm Springs. They have bed bugs and that's the last thing anyone wants to deal with after a long day at Coachella or ever for that matter. Anyway here's today's recommendations.

Top Ten Saturday Must See Bands (you will be spending a lot of time in the Gobi Tent):

1. Young & Sick 12-12:30 (Mojave)

2. The Internet 1:30-2:10 (Gobi)

3. Banks 3:45-4:20 (Gobi)

4. Holy Ghost 4:45-5:30 (Gobi)

5. Washed Out 5:50-6:40 (Gobi)

6. Lorde 7:55-8:45

8. Empire of the Sun 9:50-10:50 (Mojave)

The Knife/ Final Coachella Prepping Tips

The Knife FINALLY came back from their hiatus and performed last night at The Fox Theatre in Pomona.
Although no one is ever excited to make the drive out to no man's land for a show that will typically make a stop in LA, for whatever reason The Knife decided to make one stop before Coachella and they picked The Fox. It had been a couple years since they last played so everyone and their mothers showed up excited and ready for the sold-out dance part-ay.  Do not forget to watch them tomorrow at Coachella. They will perform at the outside stage from 10:30-11:30pm

The Knife @ The Fox Theatre

Hope the #skeezies are ready for the...
 FINAL 5 Coachella Prepping Tips!
Here they are:

11. The nice restrooms that look like an actual bathroom (with a sink and all) are located inside the white trailer that is at the very end of every cluster of port-a-potties. #LAskeez doesn't do port-a-potties and neither should you.

12. Ride the Ferris Wheel at night. You're welcome.

13. Take your favorite pair of shades and a small scarf just in case the winds kick up. Last year ppl were coughing from all the dust/dirt they were inhaling. It's the desert folks! You need to be prepared for all situations.

14. You can either take one of those phone cases that charge your phone throughout the day or head over to the "charging station" to charge your phone. You're not the only one trying to upload photos on to FB or IG so be prepared to wait for that needed charge.

15. The signing booth. For all you know your favorite artist/ band has a meet and greet going on so here's your chance to go meet them. Most folks are too overly stimulated by the rest of the festival and tend to overlook this neat opportunity.

Bonus: Register your wristband! Set-times are officially up.

Well #skeezies, it's the eve before Coachella.
Hope the tips will serve helpful.
Travel and stay safe.
#LAskeez will see you there.
Off to the desert we go!
