Elton John // Eagle Rock Music Festival

#Skeezies, it's the weekend and you need weekend plans.
Tonight there's quite a few things going on but #LAskeez has narrowed down a couple shows.
Liiike---
Elton John at the Staples Center. Everyone needs to watch Elton John perform at least once. Red piano and all.

Okay Eagle Rock, California. It's where #LAskeez resides and it happens to be one of the best neighborhoods to live according to some article that was published earlier this year. Eagle Rock is hosting their 16th annual Music Festival. It's a FREE event however $10-20 donations are expected. Unlike most events, you can be reassured that your money is going towards a good cause (the arts).

Aloe Blacc is among the many that will be performing tonight!

#LAskeez along with the rest of the true Angelinos will be tuning to the Dodgers Game. Last night's heartbreaking lost must result in a win today. No exceptions. Everyone needs to cheer a little louder and get the Boys in Blue
pumped up, there's no reason to lose.

Game starts at 6:30pm. Let's go Blue!

BBQing and Dodger Talk

About a month ago Eagle Rock welcomed Max City BBQ to the neighborhood.
Before #LAskeez  headed to the Dodger game, a local pit stop for some BBQ was a must.
What #LAskeez  already knew about the place is that it was funded through Kickstarter.
Kickstarter is an amazing way to gain the funds to start a business or whatever type of idea it is that you have.
It was kinda awesome to see an actual kickstarter campaign materialize and experience it.
The inside of the restaurant is a little smaller than anticipated but there are two picnic tables outside.
If you're lucky not to encounter two families out there already eating than you must make yourself comfy and take in a little outdoor breeze.
Although it was hard to decided between the ribs and bisket; #LAskeez ordered and throughly savored the tri-tip sandwich with a side of mac n cheese and baked beans. If you like to drown your meat in bbq sauce you're in luck because there are two bbq bottles on every table consisting of one spicy and one non-spicy bbq sauce.

The Dodgers played against the Philadelphia Phillies last night and sadly lost 3-2 during extra innings.
It was a chilly night at the Chavez Ravine but that wasn't a problem since all attendees received a Dodger Fleece Blanket giveaway!

Local LA spots/ Lunar Eclipse

After a long weekend in the desert for Coachella Weekend 1 #LAskeez is once again ready to tackle on the concrete jungle everyone knows as Los Angeles.

Yesterday we visited a few favorite spots that #LAskeez must share with the #skeezies.
Ever heard of "Slow-Fast Food"?
 No, I didn't think so.
Let me fill you in.
Theres this amazing burger place called the Oinkster.
Google, Yelp it whatever you just need to go over there (Eagle Rock) and order yourself the Royale.
It consists of an Angus patty,  bacon, pastrami, chili, pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and I always add American cheddar cheese. Good stuff. There's Craft beer for you beer drinkers out there and do not leave without a peanut butter and jelly cupcake that's a must.
If Eagle Rock is too out of the way no worries they are opening up a new location soon in Hollywood!

Okay so #LAskeez was clearly feeling like a Oinkster yesterday because for dessert we headed over to Tierra Mia in Echo Park for some cafecito (coffee for you non-spanish speakers).
The Horchata Latte and Cafecito Cubano con Leche are two great coffee choices. Since you're already up ordering coffee might as well try the Tres Leches muffin. Trust me you won't regret it, unless you hate muffins or Tres Leches.

Last night Facebook and Twitter were flooded with comments of "Lunar Eclipse" and "Bloody Moon. So naturally #LAskeez had to see what all the fuse was about. The moon was bright and even turned a dark red. There were many posted photos of the moon which were all bad. They're the type of photos you look back at a week from now and realize camera phones suck and you're probably going to delete them. Me included. Regardless of the many bad smartphone photos, it was still a sight to see.  If you are still wondering how the lunar eclipse phenomenon occurs check out this very informative NASA video below. In 2 minutes you will be an expert (kinda).
