TV On The Radio // Billy Idol // Nas // Belanova

There's too many good shows going on tonight! #LAskeez typically tries to narrow our recommendations down to two-three shows but today #LAskeez is going to tell you about four!
How you #skeezies are ready for it because here it goes---

FREE shows are always a fan favorite so let's start with that. Remember Billy Idol? Remember? How can we forget this 80s gem?! Well Billy Idol is still very capable of doing a few rebel yells and tonight he's going to perform for FREE over at Amoeba Records in Hollywood. You know the drill. Show up around 1-2pm and the performance will start around 6. Playing the waiting game is part of the FREE show nature but come one let's be honest, who doesn't want to see Billy Effen Idol!?!?

The rest of tonight's shows are kind of on the pricy side so let's continue on in the ascending price order.

What can $32 get you? A ticket to see Belanova at the Sunset House of Blues. The Mexican Trio has been around for almost 15 years now so let's just say they have the performance thing down. Whether you understand Spanish or not, their catchy pop songs and energy will get you dancing and potentially get you to want to start on Rosetta Stone.

TV On The Radio. Originally from Brooklyn, these guys will be playing at the Fonda Theatre tonight for $35.50 If you're a fan of their Indie Rock sounds and you can't make it out to see them tonight, don't worry. They will be playing again at the Mayan Theatre on Thursday for the same price and then out in Pioneer Town on Friday for $5 cheaper. Granted you do need to drive out to the desert and the money you spend on gas might not be worth the $5 cheaper ticket but it's your call.  It's always kind of fun to take a drive out somewhere during.

Last show #LAskeez  recommends for the day is... NAS. From $40-75 a ticket you can be in attendance over at the Orpheum Theatre to see him in action. He doesn't perform often so tonight is your only shot at seeing him. His next show is next month at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.

::BONUS ALERT::

Don't forget BANKS and Movement will be playing their second night at the Wiltern tonight! Last night's show was impressive and tonight should be just the same if not more. Sources tell us Movement was a better live. Maybe Banks should of considered opening up for them.

BANKS // Metronomy // Wildcat Wildcat

#LAskeez here ready to give you #skeezies today's top show recommendations.
We will start with #LAskeez's artist favorites which is Banks.

Banks is an Orange County girl who has caught the attention of many.
She is playing two shows at the Wiltern, the first show starting tonight! The Australian band Movement will be opening up for them both nights so for $27 this show is definitely a treat! If you can't make the show tonight definitely make it a point to make it out tomorrow!

The English band Metronomy, is also playing tonight at the Belasco Theatre. #LAskeez  was curious as to how the Belasco and the Mayan have been coming up on all these shows and it finally made sense. The newly renovated Regency Theatre isn't fully ready to host shows just yet which is why all these shows have been funneling over to the Belasco/Mayan Theatre (same owner, same bad venue). Nevertheless Metronomy is a good enough band that the #skeezies need to check out. What will this show cost you? $23 big ones.

WILDCAT WILDCAT! yeah these local boys are playing at the El Rey Theatre tonight for $20 a pop. Happy Tuesday! You have always have options.

Weekend Recap //Linkin Park //Thirty Seconds to Mars // AFI

What an awesome weekend!
#LAskeez went to the Banks cd Release Listening Party, The Dodgers beat the Giants 17-0. And yesterday the weekend ended with the Simpsons Take Over at The Bowl. The show was very interactive from the moment folks arrived to the very end. The cartoons were all original material specific for the Bowl. It was great! Hope the #skeezies have been able to keep cool, we're experiencing one heck of a heat wave. Check out some of the footage/pics of this weekend.

BANKS // Diplo Mad Decent Block Party

For those of you who are familiar with the amazing sultry vocals of the lovely Banks, it is likely not necessary for me to tell you to check out her newly released album Goddess. For those of you that aren’t familiar, get on this and do it quick!

Tonight #LASkeez is fortunate enough to be one of the lucky few to have an opportunity to see Banks do her thing at the ultra cool and exclusive Sonos Studios. If you can’t manage to attend, do not fret or worry my #skeezies – I’ll be sure to share some photos and tell you all about the experience tomorrow.

Other neat happenings tonight include the 76th Annual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. This is a great event to enjoy an assortment of yummy food trucks, art, music, and a beer garden serving up the best of LA’s own Eagle Rock and Angel City Breweries.

Last but not least, if you want to let lose and fist-pump – go rage with Diplo at Mad Decent. The line-up includes: Diplo himself, Elliphant, Laidback Luke, Liz, STRFKR, Thurz, and TJR.

Alright #skeezies happy Saturday and Carpe Diem!

M.I.A.-Banks-Chet Faker

Good Day #skeezies!
Here in LA the weekends start on Thursdays.
There's 3 amazing shows going on tonight and unfortunately #LAskeez can only make it out to one.
MIA....Banks...Chet Faker...
After randomly throwing a coin up in the air #LAskeez will attend the M.I.A. show over at the +Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall. So let's start getting pumped!

Today is definitely one of those moments were you wish you can duplicated yourself and be at multiple places at once. Technology hasn't allowed for that yet but over at the El Rey Theatre, Banks will be performing along with +Jerome LOL opening up!

If those two shows weren't already more than enough for a Thursday evening, Chet Faker will be playing in Hollywood at the Roxy theatre.

Hopefully you #skeezies can make it out to one of these awesome shows. None will disappoint, unless you don't make it in.

Record Store Day/ Farmers Market/ Coachella Weekend 2 Day 2

It's Record Store Day! Go to your nearest Record Store and appreciate it. Buy a record. Vinyl is awesome and some stores are even offering a free record (used) and giving away donuts.

Record Store Day @ Amoeba Music Hollywood

Let's talk about yesterday. For any #skeezies that have not been to The Grove, it's in the heart of LA. You can shop, eat, or watch a movie there. The Farmers Market which has been around since the early 1930s (way before the developer of The Grove was even born) is a staple of LA and is a brisk walk away. You can find just about anything you crave inside the Farmers Market. It's been awhile since #LAskeez has been to New Orleans but you can't always explain a craving. Luckily the Farmers Market has Cajun food!
Gumbo, alligator strips, hush puppies--they have it. #LAskeez stuck to a classic and went with a shrimp po boy. It wasn't the best. But it did satisfy the craving and is considerably cheaper than a trip out to New Orleans.

Coachella Weekend 1 Day 2

Day 1 of the Coachella festival was successfully completed.

Come here for the music. Stay here for that amazing desert sunset @ Coachella Day 1

A little of Los Angeles was taken to the desert and local restaurants such as Beer Belly and Mohawk Bend made it out to the desert! Such a delightful surprise.

#LAskeez had recommended The Knife last night and was quite surprised that they didn't play any of their hit songs and turned the set into a 1997 art class dance party. You win some you lose some.
Skrillex was spotted by #LAskeez watching an amazing Bonobo performance.

By the way never stay at the Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm Springs. They have bed bugs and that's the last thing anyone wants to deal with after a long day at Coachella or ever for that matter. Anyway here's today's recommendations.

Top Ten Saturday Must See Bands (you will be spending a lot of time in the Gobi Tent):

1. Young & Sick 12-12:30 (Mojave)

2. The Internet 1:30-2:10 (Gobi)

3. Banks 3:45-4:20 (Gobi)

4. Holy Ghost 4:45-5:30 (Gobi)

5. Washed Out 5:50-6:40 (Gobi)

6. Lorde 7:55-8:45

7. Solange 8:25-9:10 (Gobi)

8. Empire of the Sun 9:50-10:50 (Mojave)

9. Muse 11:30 (Coachella)

10. Pet Shop Boys 11:35 (Mojave)

Enjoy the festivities!
