Dodgers/ Coachella Weekend 2 Day 3

Happy Easter!
The Chavez Ravine had another visit from #LAskeez last night as the Dodgers faced the Arizona Diamond Backs. The Dodgers were down 4-0 but with the help of Andre Ethier's 3 run homer and a couple of other runs the Dodgers won 6-8. The crowd was excited with the "W" and giveaway mats.

Good Friday/ Coachella Weekend 2 Day 1

Happy Good Friday #skeezies! And I don't mean Kanye West's G.O.O.D Friday single releases from last year, I'm talking about the "Good Friday" that means Easter egg hunts and baskets.
Most of you have school or work off today so take advantage of it and go out!

Takamine Acoustic Guitar/ Coachella Weekend 2

#LAskeez is a daily blogger however yesterday our absences was felt throughout the inter-webs. Please accept my dearest apologies #skeezies.
A special package arrived early yesterday morning and to #LAskeez's surprise it was a Takamine P3MC Acoustic Guitar (hard leather case included)!!! Quite frankly the joy was overwhelming which led to #LAskeez spending the entire day enjoying the beautiful musical instrument. The guitar is light and very easy to handle. The built in tuner is another plus for anyone that is always misplacing their tuner or can't do it by ear. I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an acoustic guitar.

I'll even include this demo video for all you guitar playing #skeezies

Moving on...

Coachella Weekend 2 is tomorrow! For all you folks headed down I have some insider tips from this past Weekend 1.

Coachella Weekend 2 Top Ten Tips

1. When it's a high 90 degrees and you are sweating buckets head over to the "Fruttare" tent which is located near the Ferris Wheel. It offers free popsicles and AC! You are welcome.

2.  DO NOT chain hands with about 20 of your closest friends and attempt to walk through the Coachella crowd. Be your own person, branch out and do your own thing.

3. If you are a female using the white trailer bathrooms DO NOT use the urinals. Urinals are for men and men only. There's plenty of port-a-potties. No need to pee in the one accidental urinal that happens to come with the white trailer restrooms.

4. Wear shoes! Even sandals. Please DO NOT walk barefoot. Witnessing people walk out of the restrooms BAREFOOT is the grossest thing ever. It's unsanitary and I highly doubt anyones parents would be proud of that (same for the whole peeing in the urinal...yuck).

5. Get there early tomorrow to obtain a schedule booklet. Those things fly off the racks very quick.

6. If you're going to be that drunk girl that sits on top of her friends shoulders. Don't fall. #LAskeez saw one too many failed attempts which all result in injury and are shaken off by laughter. We all know it hurt.

7. It's an outdoor festival but that doesn't mean that the decibels aren't extremely high. So wear earplugs if you value your hearing and want to continue hearing properly. Hearing lost is unrepairable. It doesn't matter how much money you have, you can't get it back.

8. There's always room towards the front you just have to be willing to get there.

9. After your makeup is all gone from being towards the front of a stage and sweating buckets, head over to the Sephora tent for a touch up. They will take care you and put your face back on.

10. If you are prone to claustrophobia stay far far away from the Yuma Tent. It's the only tent that's enclosed with not too many exits. Can someone say safety hazard?

Be Safe Weekend 2 folks!
Don't forget to check out our Weekend 1 band/artist recommendations which stand exactly the same for Weekend 2 along with all the useful tips.

Coachella Recap

What a phenomenal weekend!
The desert bid farewell to all Coachella Weekend 1 goers with perfect weather accompanied with great music.
Day 3 Coachella Sunset
Chance the Rapper surprised the crowd with his special guest of Justin Bieber.

In case you were wondering how it feels to be near the front of the stage, check out this AlunaGeorge performance.

Disclosure was hands down the best performance of the weekend. They brought out everyone from Aluna George, Mary J. Blige, & Sam Smith! The only one missing from the scene was Jessie Ware.

#LAskeez captured some great ariel views of the festival from the very top of the Ferris Wheel.

Everyone Looking like Little Ants
This was definitely another memorable Coachella. You never know who will show up or which celebrity you may run into. The food, music, and overall vibe was incredible. Coachella Weekend 2 is only 3 days away. #LAskeez will not be in attendance for Weekend 2 but will return to the desert next year.

Coachella Weekend 1 Day 2

Day 1 of the Coachella festival was successfully completed.

Come here for the music. Stay here for that amazing desert sunset @ Coachella Day 1

A little of Los Angeles was taken to the desert and local restaurants such as Beer Belly and Mohawk Bend made it out to the desert! Such a delightful surprise.

#LAskeez had recommended The Knife last night and was quite surprised that they didn't play any of their hit songs and turned the set into a 1997 art class dance party. You win some you lose some.
Skrillex was spotted by #LAskeez watching an amazing Bonobo performance.

By the way never stay at the Caliente Tropics Resort in Palm Springs. They have bed bugs and that's the last thing anyone wants to deal with after a long day at Coachella or ever for that matter. Anyway here's today's recommendations.

Top Ten Saturday Must See Bands (you will be spending a lot of time in the Gobi Tent):

1. Young & Sick 12-12:30 (Mojave)

2. The Internet 1:30-2:10 (Gobi)

3. Banks 3:45-4:20 (Gobi)

4. Holy Ghost 4:45-5:30 (Gobi)

5. Washed Out 5:50-6:40 (Gobi)

6. Lorde 7:55-8:45

7. Solange 8:25-9:10 (Gobi)

8. Empire of the Sun 9:50-10:50 (Mojave)

9. Muse 11:30 (Coachella)

10. Pet Shop Boys 11:35 (Mojave)

Enjoy the festivities!

Coachella Weekend 1 Day 1 Must See Bands

Nothing like 90 degree weather before it hits noon.
Welcome to the desert #skeezies
Looking at today's line up can be a little overwhelming but #LAskeeze will break it down to the:
Top Ten MUST Sees
(In the order they will be performing)

1. Austra 2:10-2:55 (Gobi)

2. Jagwar Ma 3:20-4:10 (Gobi)

3.AFI 5:20-6:10 (Coachella Stage)

4. Duke Dumont 6:15-7:30 (Yuma)

5. Broken Bells 7:30-8:20 (Outdoor Theatre)

6. Chromeo 7:55-8:45 (Coachella Stage)

7. Bonobo 7:55-8:45 (Mojave)

8. Girl Talk 9:45-10:30 (Coachella Stage)

9. The Knife 10:30 (Outdoor Theatre)

Whenever The Knife set is over #LAskeez would suggest checking out the remainder of the 10. Outkast set.

::Disclaimer there is a time conflict between Chromeo and Bonobo. The best thing to do in this situation is to spend 25 minutes in each tent/stage::

The Knife/ Final Coachella Prepping Tips

The Knife FINALLY came back from their hiatus and performed last night at The Fox Theatre in Pomona.
Although no one is ever excited to make the drive out to no man's land for a show that will typically make a stop in LA, for whatever reason The Knife decided to make one stop before Coachella and they picked The Fox. It had been a couple years since they last played so everyone and their mothers showed up excited and ready for the sold-out dance part-ay.  Do not forget to watch them tomorrow at Coachella. They will perform at the outside stage from 10:30-11:30pm

The Knife @ The Fox Theatre

Hope the #skeezies are ready for the...
 FINAL 5 Coachella Prepping Tips!
Here they are:

11. The nice restrooms that look like an actual bathroom (with a sink and all) are located inside the white trailer that is at the very end of every cluster of port-a-potties. #LAskeez doesn't do port-a-potties and neither should you.

12. Ride the Ferris Wheel at night. You're welcome.

13. Take your favorite pair of shades and a small scarf just in case the winds kick up. Last year ppl were coughing from all the dust/dirt they were inhaling. It's the desert folks! You need to be prepared for all situations.

14. You can either take one of those phone cases that charge your phone throughout the day or head over to the "charging station" to charge your phone. You're not the only one trying to upload photos on to FB or IG so be prepared to wait for that needed charge.

15. The signing booth. For all you know your favorite artist/ band has a meet and greet going on so here's your chance to go meet them. Most folks are too overly stimulated by the rest of the festival and tend to overlook this neat opportunity.

Bonus: Register your wristband! Set-times are officially up.

Well #skeezies, it's the eve before Coachella.
Hope the tips will serve helpful.
Travel and stay safe.
#LAskeez will see you there.
Off to the desert we go!

Dodgers/ Coachella Prepping Tips II

How about them Dodgers
#LAskeez made it out to the Chavez Ravine last night to cheer on the Boys in Blue as they faced the Detroit Tigers.
When the first pitch is thrown by Ice Cube himself you know it's going to be a good game.

Not to mention a sold out crowd that all expected to get free dodger hoodies.
The game went into one extra inning but thanks to Carl Crawford's hitting, he brought in a runner and the Dodgers won.

A few additions to the menu throughout the stadium are: BBQ Beef Brisket, Gelato and Cannoli! All overpriced like the $7 garlic fries #LAskeez purchased but overpriced food is just part of the game. Don't forget #skeezies you can always take your own food and water bottles (only sealed) into the stadium.
There were also a few additions outside the stadium which are featured in the photos below.

Dodger Giveaway Hoodie

Vin Scully's Interactive Childrens Play

Life Size Bobble Head
Hope the #skeezies memorized yesterday's tips because here's 5 more coming at you!

Coachella Count down

Prepping Tips for Your Coachella Weekend:

6. It doesn't matter how excited you are to experience your first Coachella part-ay. You need to RSVP! If your name is not on the list there's about a hundred another ppl standing behind you that remembered to RSVP.

7. I may be channeling this from someone I know but do not purchase a Coachella ticket and expect to crash at your friends hotel. Most people have reserved their room a whole year in advance and it's rude and inconsiderate to the experienced Coachella goer.

8. Do not try "pre-gaming" in the car right when you park. It's a long walk to the Coachella grounds and most drunks can't hold their bladder. No one wants to see you peeing behind a tree or the port-a-potties (because the line is to long) or on the path to the festival. If you need to drink and are of age, wait until you are in the beer garden.

9. Take a quick look at the parking map. You will realize there are really really far lots and significantly closer ones. (still not close enough for you to drink so don't think about it)

10.  The Coachella crowd is very friendly and will return lost items to the "lost and found" but the last thing anyone wants to do is spend their entire festival day in the "lost and found" line. Do yourself a favor and take a purse, man-bag, back-pack, fanny pack, or ANYTHING with a zipper! Keep those smart phones and wallets close.

That's it for today #skeezies. The 5 final Coachella tips will be posted tomorrow!

NCAA/Prepping for Coachella

As #LAskeez was enjoying a typical morning cup of coffee today, one thing popped out of the LA Times: UCONN WINS IT ALL.
Really?
 UConn?
 March Madness truly is unpredictable.
No wonder Warren Buffet offered a BILLION dollar prize to whom ever could predict the winner from every single game.
Nevertheless Congrats to the Huskies and enjoy the moment.
I hope that viral Kentucky Fan with the "2014 national champions" tattoo knows a good Doctor that can remove it for him. Or maybe someone can hook him up with just "X"ing the 4 from the 2014 and add a 5. Although the odds of them returning to the National Championship Court again are slim to none, it doesn't hurt to update the ink to make it seem relevant.

It's time to reveal that in 3 days #LAskeez  will be in Coachella Valley covering the Coachella 2014 Weekend 1 Festival! If you can't make it out to Coachella this year, don't worry about #skeezies, #LAskeez will make you feel like you are right there in the mixExpect a good balance of some day party coverage and lots of photos and reviews of inside the festival. #LAskeez knows the desert just as well as the city so this is going to be fun.

Coachella 2014 Line Up

Prepping Tips for Your Coachella Weekend:

1. Pre-Pick your outfits [day & night outfits] this is important because you can not look rachett out there.

2. Take your swim suit and flip flops to the day partays and keep it that way. Do not wear that inside the festival. Someone WILL step on your flip flops and it will hurt. It will hurt a lot.

3. Take and apply sunscreen and/or take a hat. No one wants to see your skin peeling after Day 1.

4. HYDRATE. HYDRATE. HYDRATE. Coachella allows you to take in empty water bottles to refill inside the festival. Time and time again I see HUNDREDs of ppl dehydrated in the Medic Tent and that's not a cute look.

5. Know who you want to see perform throughout the day and check the set-times! Looking lost and standing in the middle of a crowd is another not so cute look.

Memorize and Review these 5 tips until you understand. 5 more Coachella tips will be posted tomorrow.

What's today's #skeez?

#LAskeez will try to head over to Dodger Stadium to see the Boys in Blue take on the Detroit Tigers!
