Broken Bells // Big Freedia // We Can Survive

#LAskeez doesn't need to tell you that it's Friday! #skeezies  are ready to unwind and let loose for the weekend.

There's no shortage of shows tonight so here are today's top 3 recommendations:

The indie band Broken Bells will be playing tonight at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets range anywhere between $35-45. It's always fun to see two people from different bands come together and form their own. If you recognize the vocals you would know that it's actually James Mercer from the Shins and Danger Mouse!

If #LAskeez had to pick between tonight's shows, we would hands down pick Big Freedia. He's from New Orleans and has worked with the likes of Ru Paul, enough said. Big Freeda can bring out the bounce in anyone. His shows are HIGH energy so be ready for the dance party. You don't even know. Yes, gawd.

Typically #LAskeez doesn't mention mainstream events but tonight's event at the Hollywood Bowl has a lot of heavy hitters and it's for a cause. $2 of the ticket sales for the "We Can Survive" event will be donated to the foundations Living Beyond Breast Cancer and the Young Survival Coalition. Some of the acts consist of Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Pharrell, and Sia. Ticket for this show range from $49-250.

Happy Friday!

Sunset Strip Festival 2014

Since Sunset Junction is a thing of the past we only have The Sunset Strip Music Festival to talk about and lucky for you #skeezies the line-up was announced yesterday!
From the looks of it, the festival is going to offer a little of everything for everyone.
Jane's Addiction to Big Freedia that's a huge difference but #LAskeez likes it and can appreciate the bold move.
Mark your calendars for the two day street festival on September 20 & 21.

This is just a taste of what you can expect

If you enjoyed those music videos, then you need to be at SSMF!

Can't wait until September to go to a show?
Well tomorrow evening over at the Fox Performing Arts Center,  Jill Scott will be bringing from the soul realness onto the stage.

"Hater don't hate" on Jill Scott!
